Children can start survival swim as early as 6 months. However, we believe that developmental stages are more telling of a child's readiness. Ideally, every child should learn survival swim skills before they begin walking.
Your child will learn survival swim skills to save themselves in a water accident. And, they will also learn how to swim!
Most children learn survival swim skills and pass the 2-minute float test between 24-28 lessons. After that, we maintain their skills and work on becoming stronger swimmers in weekly maintenance lessons.
Our registration fee is $50 per family.

We understand that babies and toddlers are hardwired to communicate by crying. Even the most reluctant child will develop a comfort level in the water with time. It's important to remember this and trust me to care for your child and help with this transition. Three lessons is the average amount of time it takes for me to stop being a stranger and a relationship to develop.
Lessons are $35 per lesson.
Parent-tot classes are $60/ 30 minute class
Safe Waves Survival Swim does not offer refunds for registration fees or lessons. Once a slot is reserved this slot is considered sold and is no longer marketable. Registration fees are waived for year round swimmers!!
The infant survival program teaches your baby to roll over from a face down or submerged position onto their back to relax and breathe. This life-saving survival skill is taught by our experienced instructor who will gently introduce your child to the water, build trust, instill confidence & skill. It is a delicate balance to push babies in order to give them the tools to rescue themselves in case of a water emergency, but drowning prevention is worth the commitment!
The swim-float-swim method is designed for toddlers and young children and is an extension of our survival program. Children will learn to swim a short distance with their face fully submerged, roll onto their back to rest whenever they need to breathe, then flip back onto their stomach and continue to swim to safety. The swim-float-swim sequence serves as the foundation for future stroke development and is imperative for water safety!
